Pampulha Lake and Niemeyer's Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, a few minutes from UFMG
The symposium brings together researchers and students to discuss recent results in supergeometry, algebraic geometry and holomorphic foliations, with an emphasis on the interactions between these theories. It is open to everyone interested, and especially to faculty and graduate and undergraduate students from universities in Minas Gerais.
The week combines invited talks by speakers from Brazil and abroad, poster sessions for early-career researchers, a round table on doing science at the public university, and plenty of time for informal discussion and new collaborations.
Supermanifolds, graded and higher geometric structures, and their links with mathematical physics.
Moduli spaces, vector bundles and sheaves, and the geometry of projective varieties.
Holomorphic foliations and their singularities, and the algebraic and complex geometry around them.
Round table · open to all
An open conversation with students and faculty on the path from public schools to research, the role of mathematical olympiads and undergraduate research programs, the conditions for staying in undergraduate and graduate studies, and the underfunding of research at public universities.
